In the slightest of wedges, I strolled into the office, catching a pile of said snow and taking a solid tumble at the entrance of a large Manhattan office building, the likes of which romcom writers would use to paint the picture of a girl starting a very. rough. morning.

So new boots it is. My flat knee highs are somewhat impractical because they don’t go with every office outfit, all day. I need something I can just quickly kick off and slip into a heel for a little more office appropriateness. Enter these Marc Fishers. I keep going back to them as the epitome of a slick flat Chelsea boot, but to date, have been hard-pressed to spend the circa $180. Slightly cheaper at $155, these flat black ankle boots from Other Stories also look promising. However, it being near the end of the season and all, I may just grab these under $50 version from Asos to tide me over until next fall.
